Red sky in morning, gamers take warning. It is done. The Rifts campaign had to end at some point, though I was hoping I could see it through until we arrived in the Colorado Baronies properly. Due to personal circumstances with two players, and my new job with a different organization, our break between sessions grew to several months. Eventually these two players, for perfectly justifiable reasons, had to withdraw from our gaming group entirely. As this brought our total player count down from 6 to 4, I broached the subject of moving on to a separate game/system in light of my discontentment with the Palladium system and the difficulties we would face as a group adjusting to the loss of a third of our characters. The remaining group reached a consensus in favor of this option, though one person was firmly in support of marching on (the guy with the cyborg, go figure...). While I have not given up on the campaign or characters, I figured we would need a clean break and fresh reboot if we are to continue making the Rifts campaign work. For now we must bid farewell to the post-apocalypse.
How long can we resist the call of the Wastelands? Only time will tell...
